As an old-school Varn head (have been listening since the Diet Soap days), I have to say that your recent conversation with Adam Turl ranks as one of my favorite episodes thus far. Can't (yet) put my finger on extactly why that is. But overall, as it relates to our present state of affairs, I think everything covered in that episode is as spot-on as spot-on can be. Salient, relevant, and maybe even prescient. Subtley profound and practically insightful. To me, listening to this episode is like walking along a fruitful path of inquiry, analysis, critique, and exploration, and then arriving at genuine understanding. I know, I know - I'm really pouring it on! Just trying to express/point out how much of a stand out episode it is (for me at least). Hopefully you see where I'm coming from! Take Care, - J.

Hey there human-I-assume-is-on-the-other-side-of-this, I'm listening in from West Virginia and while I get a good doompilling when I listen in about the wider world, I'm wondering if there's a focus on the periphery i.e. in the rural areas or the rust belt specifically especially regarding farming in any past or upcoming episode. Passing references have been made to a "rural strategy" that should be adopted by either a movement or current political entity so it isn't left to rot like it currently is. Anything in the works that shines a light on my little corner of the world?

Can you get rid of your corny intro and just keep the music😭😭😭 The music sets the scene up enough and is also probably the best podcast intro music I've heard... just take out the narration I'm begging you

If you wish to understand Bataille in the Post Structuralist context, refer to Rosalind Krauss’ definitive analysis of Bataille, Documents and Surrealist photography, The Optical Unconscious (MIT Press).
